Book Review: “These Violent Delights”

This debut novel by Micah Nemerever blew me away. “These Violent Delights” was twisted and beautiful and I would recommend this to any reader who wants to take a walk down the road of infatuation and manipulation turned to violence.

Paul and Julian are both intriguing characters, with Paul being taken almost instantly by Julian. As their relationship grows, violence becomes part of the equation. They develop a game of discussing ways to get away with a murder, looking for someone who doesn’t align with their idea of morality. A Vietnam war vet fits into this mold perfectly. Both Paul and Julian are unhappy creatures full of melancholy and dissatisfication (they do say that misery loves company).

Everything does finally come to a head but I will leave that for you to find out by grabbing this book and taking it for a spin yourself.

Happy Reading!
